Nashville Number System

In 2015, Hal Leonard published my Nashville number system fake book. As far as I know, this book is the first large-scale fake book to ever be published using the Nashville number system. The book includes a thorough but succinct overview of the Nashvillve number system, as well as Nashville number charts for 200 country songs that span from the dawn of recorded country music (i.e., around 1950) to the modern day (circa 2015). I think it is a great resource for those wanting to learn the Nashville number system, since it allows you to play along with real songs. It runs about $16-17 new on Amazon.com.

The best part (or most fun part) of the book is playing along with the original recordings, I think. YouTube is a great resource in this regard. I also thought readers of the book may want to know the exact versions of the songs that I used to make these number charts. Accordingly, I have compiled here a list of all 200 songs with iTunes links (when available) to the exact versions of the songs I used when making the book. (I tried to use album versions whenever possible, but I often had to resort to greatest hits collections because so many songs predated compact discs.) I hope this information helps.
